Di’s BIG Angola Odyssey!

From her pen –

We are going to visit Angola in July!  No they said, it is too dangerous. What we discovered was totally to the contrary.  What a welcoming, friendly, happy nation that went out of their way to help whenever they could.  At no time did we ever feel anything but safe, even whilst walking the streets of Luanda.

But I am getting ahead of myself.  My two colleagues and I decided that Angola was an undiscovered country and we wished to be one of the first companies to offer this new and exciting destination.  So off we went, flying in to Windhoek where we picked up a Toyota Fortuner and a guide who had been to Angola before. This was a definite benefit as not much English is spoken, mostly Portuguese.

Sun, sea and Yolanda in the Seychelles!

It’s a tough old job but someones got to do it!

Yolanda from our Cape Town office was lucky enough to visit the Seychelles recently!  The main focus of the trip was to see and understand how the inter-island transfers work.

During her visit, she also took a trip to Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, home of the Black Parrot and Coco De Mer.  But the highlight for her was a glass-bottom boat trip, where they got to feed the fish and enjoy snorkelling, before a visit to one of the Seychelles’s beautiful white sandy beaches. There, they relaxed for the rest of the day, gazing over the Indian Ocean’s azure blue waters… Sheer bliss!

2600km ÷ (5 girls + 6 days) = Jo’s Namibian trip

Jo, along with a few colleagues, embarked on a six-day whirlwind a road trip through Namibia in June.  They visited numerous properties, including the newly acquired Gondwana properties;  Palmwag Lodge and Omarunga Lodge in Epupa.

The highlight of her trip, however, was without a doubt the champagne breakfast they enjoyed at Epupa Falls!  Taking in the amazing sunrise over the falls left a lasting impression on all of them.

They were the first guests to experience this unique activity and Omarunga Lodge is now planning to offer it to all future guests!

Have you heard about HERD?

HERD (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation & Development) is South Africa’s first elephant orphanage!  The need for an orphanage was identified after a number of very young elephants have been rescued and brought to the Jabulani herd in Kapama Game Reserve.

 Fam trips for our friends!

We recently arranged fam trips for our Canadian & UK industry friends.

Cape Town was a huge hit and everyone had an amazing time visiting various sites and participating in unique activities such as a traditional Cape Malay cooking experience!

We also showed them our beautiful Muluwa Lodge from where they enjoyed game drives into the Kruger National Park and visited sites such as the newly built Graskop Gorge Lift, the latest attraction on the Panorama Route.
Check out the cool video here
