The Eswatini Tourism Authority invited our representative from Highline, Simoné Erasmus, along with other tour operator reps from around the world, to rediscover their beautiful country. We were welcomed by friendly faces from the community, government employees and the media, and were privileged to participate in this informative and enjoyable trip.
Eswatini remains rich in its traditions and has many cultural experiences for tourists to take part in. These include authentic bush experiences like boma dinners around the African fire, bush walks, mountain biking, horse rides and game drives, as well as bustling city tours telling of decades-long history. Local craft markets, art, unique music and traditional dancing are also on offer. See how to make glass at Ngwenya Glass, where you can also treat yourself to hand-made chocolates. Or learn how to make your own intricately-designed, colourful candles at Swazi Candles, a working candle-making factory. For the adventurous, you can take a thrilling glide through the mountainous wilderness heights of the Malolotja Tree Top Canopy Tour or go river rafting down the Grade III-VI Great Usutu River (just beware of the odd crocodile!).
Bird and nature lovers will enjoy a stroll through the majestic Summerfield Botanical Garden. Offering breathtaking sunsets on a regular basis, authentic local cuisine and fine dining experiences, Eswatini truly caters for everyone. From luxury accommodation fit for a king to low budget backpackers’ hostels and hidden gems deep in the lush nature reserves, Eswatini has an option to suit your tastes and budget.
